Ingredients
Scale
For the Apple Dip:
- 5 medium apples, peeled, cored, and cut into ¼″ pieces
- ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
For the Chips:
- 8 small (6″) flour tortillas
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Nonstick spray or melted butter
Instructions
- Make the Dip:
- In a bowl, toss apple cubes with both sugars, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
- Transfer to a saucepan, add water, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce to medium‑low, and simmer 10 minutes, until apples are soft.
- Scoop out ½ cup of the cooking liquid and whisk in cornstarch to form a slurry.
- Stir the slurry back into the apples and cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly—or chill for a cold dip.
- Bake the Chips:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
- Lightly coat each tortilla with spray or butter, then dust both sides with the cinnamon‑sugar blend.
- Cut tortillas into 8 wedges and arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake 9–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy. Cool on wire racks.
