Description

Enjoy all the gooey goodness of Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits in convenient loaf form—no kneading, no waiting for dough to rise, just soft, cheesy perfection every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread Batter

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 3 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Garlic-Butter Glaze

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of onion powder (about ⅛ tsp)
  • Pinch of dried parsley (about ⅛ tsp)
  • ⅛ tsp fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep & Pan:
    • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a 9×5″ loaf pan with parchment, leaving a bit of overhang on two sides. Lightly coat the paper with nonstick spray.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in the shredded cheddar until each piece is lightly dusted with flour.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, beat milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
    • Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just incorporated—overmixing can lead to a tough crumb.
  4. Bake the Loaf:
    • Transfer batter to the prepared pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
    • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Make the Topping:
    • While the bread bakes, whisk melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and salt in a small bowl.
  6. Finish & Cool:
    • As soon as the loaf exits the oven, brush the top generously with the garlic-butter glaze.
    • Let the bread rest in the pan for 5 minutes, then lift it out using the parchment overhang.
    • Cool on a wire rack briefly, or slice and serve warm.
